Singer-songwriter Cris Jacobs devoted his weekly livestream on Tuesday in part to songs about Georgia and tunes from Georgia-based artists including The Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic and Col. Bruce Hampton. Jacobs dubbed the session, which also featured originals, “Georgia On Our Mind.”

Cris livestreamed the two-hour set on his Facebook page. His 42nd weekly performance came on the same day as the Georgia Senate runoff elections, hence the theme.

Jacobs opened with his own “14 Days” and then offered renditions of Jim Croce’s “Walkin’ Back To Georgia,” James Brown’s “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World” and “Hey Ya” by OutKast. The original “Stoned On You” was followed by Blind Willie McTell’s “Statesboro Blues” and The Allman Brothers Band’s “Melissa.”

Cris continued on with “Big Wheel” from his time in The Bridge and solo gem “Long Distance Call.” Next up was a tribute to Athens, Georgia’s Widespread Panic in the form of “Blue Indian” ahead of covers of Otis Redding’s “Cigarettes & Coffee,” Brent Cobb’s “Black Crow” and the Gladys Knight classic “Midnight Train To Georgia.”

The guitarist/vocalist’s last original of the night was “Jack The Whistle & The Hammer” off his 2016 album, Dust To Gold. Jacobs went on to perform Tony Joe White’s “Rainy Night In Georgia,” Col. Bruce Hampton’s “Basically Frightened” and “She Talks To Angels” by The Black Crowes. Fittingly, Cris ended the set with “Georgia On My Mind.”
